What's happening on Whidbey Island this weekend

February 10 - 13, 2023

As winter continue to keep us indoors, there are a few things going on this weekend that may tempt you to turn to pause Netflix and turn off your devices.

BAREFOOT IN THE PARK AT WHIDBEY PLAYHOUSE

Jean-Michel and I went to see Barefoot in the Park last weekend and we cannot recommend this delightful Neil Simon romantic comedy enough. The story is lovely and the acting is even better.

Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. After a six day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie's loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic Velasco, where everything that can go wrong does.

Whidbey News Times reporter, Karina Andrew plays Corie - and she is a delight. Paul is played by active duty service man, Connor Magnoli who is convincing as a buttoned up attorney who is in love with free-spirited Corie.

As a side note, I encourage all to support our community theaters. Everyone involved is a volunteer and they work so hard to bring high quality productions to our local community.
