Crab Catcher gnomes are the undisputed masters of bringing in Whidbey Island's most famous crustacean catch – the mighty Dungeness crab. Crab Catchers are known for their uncanny ability to locate the most bountiful crabbing spots. Some say they can communicate with the crabs themselves, coaxing them into their pots with whispered promises and ancient sea shanties. Others believe they have an innate sense of the tides and currents, allowing them to predict where the crabs will gather. Their most important ritual occurs each summer solstice when they host the Great Crab Feast.
