It's MusselFest in Penn Cove this weekend

Residents of Whidbey Island and visitors alike look forward to the annual MusselFest held on the first weekend in March. And this year is no exception especially considering what's happened over the past few years with Covid and all!

Organized by the Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association, MusselFest is focused around the Rec Hall and it's adjacent parking lot in beautiful downtown Coupeville. Festivities include a beer garden with live music - with the opportunity to enjoy hot steaming mussels, of course! Jean-Michel and I will be volunteering in the beer tent on Sunday.

The music line-up for MusselFest 2023 on Saturday in the Blue Zone (next to the Rec Hall):

11:00 am - 1:00 pm Handsome and Gretel

1:30 pm - 2:00 pm Harbor Brass

3:30 pm - 4:30 pm A Fiddle in the Forest

5:00 pm - 7:00 pm The Corey Vincent Band

Performing Sunday in the Blue Zone:

11:00 am - 1:00 pm Original Jim

1:30 pm - 3:30 pm Porch Brothers

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Lykins-Adams Duo

Music line up for Saturday at the Penn Cove Shellfish Beer Tent:

11:00 am - 12:00 pm Marcus Whiting on Piano

12:30 pm - 5:00 pm Tiller’s Folly

5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Steve Trembley

This is also a great opportunity to tour the mussel farm by boat and watch a free mussel cooking demonstration in the Rec Hall between 10am and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday.

And that's not all. Local Merchants, non-profits, food vendors, an all-ages scavenger hunt, mermaids, children’s activities, and more, situated along Front, Alexander, and Coveland Streets, add to the Musselfest fun! See more details here
